Terms of Service
Effective November 6, 2026
These Terms are a contract between you and Claps Artificial Intelligence Inc. (“we”), the company that makes STAGE. They cover the STAGE app for Mac, this website and our services. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use STAGE.
Please read this part. Pro, Pro+ and Ultra renew automatically every month and charge your card until you cancel. You can cancel anytime in the app. Credits included in a plan do not roll over. Credits you buy do not expire.
You own your footage and what you make. Your videos never leave your Mac. AI can be wrong, so check what it makes before you publish it.
1. Your account
You need an account to use STAGE. You must be at least 18 and able to make a contract. If you use STAGE for a company, you agree to these Terms for it too, and you confirm you can.
You sign in through your browser with a code we email you or with a sign-in provider such as Google. Keep access to that email or provider safe, and sign out of Macs you no longer use. An account is for one person. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and you must tell us at hi@stage.video if you think someone else is using it.
2. The app
While these Terms apply, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the STAGE app on Macs you control, for your own or your company's work, including commercial work. STAGE runs only on Macs with Apple Silicon and macOS 26 or later.
You may not copy or redistribute the app, reverse engineer it except where the law allows that regardless, get around its limits or its security, or use it to build a competing product. We keep all rights we do not expressly give you. The app includes open-source components under their own licenses.
The app can update itself. We may also stop supporting old versions, and an old version may stop working with our servers until you update it.
3. Plans and payment
| Plan | Price | Included credits | What it includes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | None | Every function that runs on your Mac, stock footage, and the assistant under a fair-use limit |
| Pro | $20 a month | 1,000 a month | Free, plus generated shots and backgrounds, and higher limits |
| Pro+ | $60 a month | 3,500 a month | The same, with higher limits |
| Ultra | $200 a month | 14,000 a month | The same, with the highest limits |
You can also buy credit packs if you are on a paid plan: $10 for 1,000 credits, $25 for 2,500, and $50 for 5,000. Prices are in US dollars and do not include any tax that applies.
Stripe processes our payments. You authorize us to charge your payment method through Stripe for what you buy. Claps Artificial Intelligence Inc. takes these payments through a Stripe account whose public name is Company.inc, so that name appears on Stripe's checkout and billing pages and on receipts. Your card statement shows STAGE.VIDEO for a plan and C INC* STAGE.VIDEO for a credit pack.
Fair-use limits. Each plan has monthly limits on the assistant and on stock searches, and limits on how many requests and generations can run at once. They keep STAGE working for everyone. Monthly limits start over at the start of each calendar month, UTC. If you reach one, the app tells you, and you can still see, undo and export what you already edited.
4. Automatic renewal and how to cancel
Pro, Pro+ and Ultra are monthly subscriptions that renew automatically. Each month, on your renewal date, we charge your payment method the price of your plan ($20, $60 or $200 a month, plus any tax) until you cancel. There is no minimum term.
You can cancel anytime. To avoid the next charge, cancel before your renewal date. You can see that date in the app, under Settings, then Plan.
How to cancel. In the app, open Settings from your profile, choose Plan, then Manage. That opens Stripe's billing page, where you choose to cancel. Or email hi@stage.video from your account's address and ask, and we will do it for you.
What happens when you cancel. Nothing changes until the period you paid for ends. Then your included credits end and your account moves to Free. Credits you bought stay on your account, and you can use them if you return to a paid plan. We do not refund the rest of a period you cancel, unless the law requires it.
If the price changes. We will email you between 7 and 30 days before a new price applies to you, with how to cancel. If you do not cancel before then, the next renewal is at the new price.
5. Changing plans and failed payments
- Moving up takes effect at once. You pay a whole month of the new plan, less the unused time of the old one, and your renewal date moves to the day you upgrade. The difference between the two plans' included credits is added to what you have left. This can cost close to the new plan's full price, not only the difference between the two prices.
- Moving down waits for the end of the period you paid for. Your renewal then charges the lower price and sets the smaller amount of included credits.
- A failed renewal. If a renewal payment fails, your plan reads as Free until someone pays, so you cannot generate. The included credits of the old period end with it. A payment that succeeds starts a new period with its credits. If payment keeps failing, the subscription can end, and your account stays on Free.
6. Credits
Credits pay for generated shots and backgrounds. Everything else in STAGE uses no credits.
| Generation | Credits |
|---|---|
| Standard shot | 30 a second |
| Premium shot | 90 a second |
| Generated background | 10 |
Shots last 4 to 15 whole seconds. We may change what things cost in credits. The assistant does not ask again before it spends credits. When you ask for a shot, it looks in your files and in stock first; if it finds nothing and you are on a paid plan, it may generate one, and the credits are spent. If you do not want that, ask for your own files or for stock footage by name. The app says what something costs when your balance is too low for it.
- Included credits come with a paid plan each month and are spent first. They do not roll over: each renewal replaces what is left of them with the plan's new amount. They end when your plan ends.
- Purchased credits from a pack do not expire. They stay on your account if you cancel, and you can use them whenever you are on a paid plan. On Free they wait, because generating needs a paid plan.
- When a generation fails. Credits are set aside when a generation starts and come back if it fails. So we can keep offering this, we may stop accepting new generations for the rest of the day after too many that the provider worked on have failed in one day: 10 on Pro, 20 on Pro+ and 40 on Ultra. A job the provider refused outright does not count. A generation that succeeded but is not what you hoped for has still been spent.
- What credits are not. Credits are not money. They have no cash value, you cannot sell or transfer them, and they are not refunded when your account ends, unless the law requires it. Your balance never goes below zero.
7. Refunds and chargebacks
Payments are not refundable, except where the law requires a refund or we choose to give one. If something went wrong, write to hi@stage.video. Refunds go back to your original payment method through Stripe. There is no refund button in the app.
What a refund does to credits. When a payment is refunded, in whole or in part, the same share of the credits that payment bought is removed at once, rounded up. For a plan's payment, that is only while that period's included credits still last. A refund does not cancel your subscription: cancel it as section 4 says.
Credits you already spent. If some of those credits are already spent, or set aside for a generation in progress, that amount is owed. Your balance does not go below zero. Instead, the next credits to reach your account pay it first, whether they come from a renewal, a pack or a failed generation. This means a renewal you pay for can add fewer credits than usual, or none, until the amount is paid. The plan view in the app says what you owe and why.
If a refund fails. If a refund cannot reach your bank, we will return the money another way. The credits stay removed.
Chargebacks. If you dispute a payment with your bank, the same happens the moment the dispute opens, because Stripe takes the money back then. Your subscription also stops renewing and ends with its current period, so your card is not charged again while the dispute is open. If the dispute is decided in our favor and the money comes back to us, the credits return, and you can subscribe again. Please write to us first; it is usually quicker. We may end accounts that misuse disputes.
8. Your content
You own your footage and everything you make with STAGE. We claim no ownership of your videos, your words or your output. Your video, audio and image files stay on your Mac and are never uploaded to us. The Privacy Policy lists what does leave your Mac.
To work, the service has to process what you send it: what you type, the text of what is said in your video, and facts about your project. You give us permission to process that, and to pass it to the providers named in the Privacy Policy, only to run STAGE for you. That permission ends when the processing does. We do not use it to train AI models and we do not publish it.
You are responsible for what you import and what you make. You confirm you have the rights you need in your footage, music, logos and the people who appear in them.
9. AI can be wrong
STAGE uses AI to understand your requests, read your transcript, write text and choose edits. It can be wrong. A caption can mishear you, a translation can miss the meaning, a title can state something false, and an edit can cut something you wanted. Output can be incomplete, and similar requests can give different results.
Check what STAGE makes before you publish or rely on it, especially anything factual, legal, medical or financial. It is not professional advice. You are responsible for what you publish. Your original files are not changed by editing, and you can undo changes.
10. Generated media
Generated shots and backgrounds are made by third-party AI models through fal.ai, from a description written from your request. They take time, can fail, and are sometimes blocked by the provider's safety filters.
As between you and us, what you generate is yours, and we give you any rights we have in it, for any lawful use including commercial use, subject to the provider's terms for that model. We cannot promise that the law protects generated material as yours; in many places copyright may not cover what a machine made. Others may get similar results. We do not promise that it is free of third-party rights, and it is your job to check before relying on it, especially if it resembles a real person, brand or work.
Do not use generation to depict a real person without their consent, or to pass generated material off as real footage in a way that misleads people.
11. Stock footage
Stock clips come from Pixabay under the Pixabay Content License, which is Pixabay's and its contributors', and not ours. In short, you may use and change clips for free, including in commercial videos, without having to credit the author. You may not sell or distribute a clip on its own, with no creative work added. You may not use one with recognizable people in an immoral or illegal way, use one in a misleading way, use one as part of a trademark or business name, or use trademarks or logos that appear in one for commercial purposes in relation to goods and services. It is your job to check whether you need anyone's permission for how you use a clip.
That summary does not replace the license itself. STAGE keeps a credit with each clip it adds, naming the author and Pixabay. We make no promise about any clip, or that it stays available.
12. Acceptable use
Do not use STAGE to:
- make or share sexual material involving minors, or anything else illegal;
- infringe someone's rights, including copyright, privacy and publicity rights;
- harass, threaten or defraud anyone, or make deceptive impersonations of real people;
- spread material meant to mislead people about elections, health or emergencies;
- break our limits, for example by creating accounts to avoid them, or get free service by asking for failures on purpose;
- attack, overload, scan or get around the security of our services, or send our API anything other than what the app sends;
- resell access to STAGE, or use its output or AI services in breach of the terms of the providers behind them.
We can refuse a request or suspend access if we reasonably believe you are breaking this section.
13. Other services
STAGE relies on other companies, including OpenAI, fal.ai, Pixabay, Stripe, Supabase, Cloudflare and Google. They can be slow, change or stop, and we may replace them. If a feature depends on one that is down, that feature may not work for a while. We are not responsible for their services, though we are for choosing them with care.
14. Ending this agreement
You can stop at any time: cancel any plan as section 4 says and ask us to delete your account, as the Privacy Policy describes. Credits left on a deleted account are lost.
We can suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if we must by law, or to protect STAGE or other people. We will tell you why when we reasonably can. If we close your account for breaking these Terms, unused credits are lost and we do not refund what you paid, unless the law requires it. If we stop offering STAGE altogether, we will give you reasonable notice.
When this agreement ends, your license to the app ends. Your files and exports on your Mac remain yours, though functions that need our servers will stop. Sections 7 to 11 and 15 to 21 continue.
15. Disclaimers
STAGE is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. We do not promise that STAGE will be uninterrupted or error-free, that its output will be accurate or suitable, or that it will not lose your work. Keep your own copies of your originals and your exports.
Some places do not allow these exclusions, so some may not apply to you.
16. Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, neither we nor our suppliers are liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability for all claims about STAGE is limited to the greater of what you paid us for STAGE in the 12 months before the claim arose, or US$100.
These limits apply whatever the legal theory, and even if we knew a loss was possible. They do not limit anything the law does not let us limit, such as liability for fraud or for injury caused by gross negligence.
17. Copyright complaints
Your videos are not on our servers, so we cannot remove them. If you believe something we do host or supply infringes your copyright, send our copyright contact a notice with: your signature; what work you say is infringed; what material you say infringes it and where it is; your contact details; a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or may act for the owner.

If you misrepresent infringement in a notice, you can be liable for damages. We may close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe.
18. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Delaware, leaving aside its conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, this does not take away protections that the law of your home state gives you and that cannot be waived by contract. Nothing in these Terms requires arbitration or waives your right to go to court.
California residents: the charges for STAGE are in section 3. You can reach the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or (800) 952-5210.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may change these Terms. We will change the date at the top and, if a change materially affects you, email you at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep using STAGE after that, the new Terms apply. If you do not agree, cancel and stop using STAGE before then. A change does not apply to a dispute that arose before it. Price changes follow section 4.
We may also change STAGE itself, adding or removing functions. If we remove something important to a paid plan, you can cancel, and we will tell you when we can.
20. The rest
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about STAGE. If part of them cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce something, we have not given up the right to. You may not transfer this agreement without our written consent. We may transfer it with the business, and will tell you. We are not responsible for delays caused by things beyond our reasonable control. We can send you notices by email to your account's address.
